Nutritional considerations and there value to our lives
Nutrition is a very integral part of life. It is what makes our little world go round. Without the proper nutritional intake that our bodies receive, we will be at the mercy of diseases and illness. But what is nutritional and what is not? Why do people sacrifice proper nutrition just to be sexy and thin?
What is Nutrition?
Nutrition is the way in which all living things are nourished and the process in which they receive the essential materials that they need in order to survive. It is also defined as the science that studies the nourishment of living things, especially humans, through the foods they eat.
There is no denying the fact that nutrition is very important in people's day-to-day lives. It is what keeps us alive, nourishes us, and makes us function. Without the proper nutrition, our body will grow weak and cannot defend itself from diseases and illness that can wreck havoc to an unhealthy body.
During our development as a child, nutrition plays a very major role. It helps us grow, glow, and go. It is what makes our bodies tick and what makes our organ strong so that they will function properly.
The kind of nutrition one eats is also important to one's health. For example, a person whose diet mainly consists of vegetables, fruits, and other healthy foods is at lesser risk of developing illnesses and diseases related to poor nutrition. Likewise, a person whose diet mainly consists of high-fat, high-sodium, high-sugar, and high-cholesterol foods can expect diseases and illnesses associated with this kind of diet. So, with the proper diet and proper nutrition, diseases like hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, diabetes, obesity, etc. are prevented.
Moreover given you receive the proper nutrition, you will also experience clearer and smoother skin, saving you lots of money from going to dermatologists. This will also give you a more natural glow as compared to putting on lots of make-ups. In the long run, a person who receives proper nutrition has a younger and fresher skin.
A person who receives proper nutrition also has a better disposition. He is more cheerful as well as more alert than those who do not receive proper nutrition, who tend to be irritable and sluggish.
But just because a person eats too much does not mean that he is eating the healthy way. As stated above, eating anything in excess is detrimental to one's health. There should be a balance in everything a person eats, primarily those rich in nutrients, minerals, vitamins, and fibers like vegetables and fiber. Not only can it help your body function properly, but waste products are eliminated more effectively because of the fibers.
The Need to Be Sexy
But because of pressure and the need to be thin and sexy, many people sacrifice nutrition. They learn to skip meals or go on unhealthy diets just to become thin and lose weight fast. Hollywood actors and actresses promote sexy and thin bodies, and because monkeys see and monkeys do, many ordinary people follow suit and starve themselves just to become like the celebrities. They sacrifice proper nutrition to become like everybody else.
Nutrition and Exercise
If you really want to have a sexy body, you should have a good balance between proper nutrition and correct exercise regimen.
When I say proper nutrition, you should know how to count calories so that you will only ingest what your body needs daily. No more, no less. There are calorie counters in the Internet that you can make use of to know the calorie count of each food. In this way, you will be assured that you will only be eating what your body needs. You should also check the back label of each food that you are purchasing so as to know its nutritional values and avoid those that are bad for you.
Secondly, you should also limit your fat intake or at least know what the good and the bad fats are so that you can avoid the bad and eat more of the good. Bad fats are saturated fats that can increase the level of our blood cholesterol, causing blood clots or blockages. This kind of fat can be found in meat oil, dairy products, eggs, and even in some seafood. You should also avoid commercially packaged foods that are rich in trans fats. These bad fats can also be seen in fast-food items. Good fats, on the other hand, are monounsaturated fats and are commonly found in nuts. Polyunsaturated fats are also beneficial to the body, and these can be found in salmon and fish oil, which tends to lower cholesterol level. A very good kind of fat is the omega-3 fatty acid.
Finally, exercise is a good way to keep your body fit. With exercise and the proper nutrition, you are on your way for a healthy and fit body. The best exercise that one can do is the aerobic exercise because it is more beneficial for the heart and the lungs, plus, it increases your endurance as well as strength.

True true. We need to monitor everything we put into our bodies because what goes on the inside eventually is reflected on the outside as well. Three cheers for veggies!!!

Good pointers here.
It seems that at times we get so caught up in our "fast everything" lifestyles that we neglect to monitor what we are putting into our bodies. We forget the old saying "garbage in, garbage out". We spend so much of our time doing other things that we forget that our most important asset is our health. We go on for years like this and then one day we wonder what happened to our bodies. Then we sometimes, often unsuccessfully, attempt "crash diets" in a desperate effort to regain our sexy youthful looks. Rather we should make it part of our daily routine to monitor what we put into our bodies and in the long run we will be much happier with ourselves.
Thanks for the reminder.
