Understanding Acne Vulgaris
Vulgaris, acne, pimples, zits, guess if I had to pick any one term I liked best it would be......not sure I like any of them actually but I really dislike vulgaris. I mean who thought that name up anyway? I don't know but I bet whoever it was had clear skin! I mean come on it's hard enoigh as it is without having a doctor sit on the otyher side of the desk saying "well son your suffering from Vulgaris"
Point is they all pretty much mean the same thing. They all refer to a very unpleasant occurrence for many people. During puberty, teenagers have to contend with skin breakouts such as acne. In some, this becomes persistent even during their maturity and one may wonder what could be causing these. Many people start feeling depressed with lower self-esteem compared to others who don't seem to be afflicted with the same condition. It is time you start understanding what acne is and this will help you find a way to find to an appropriate solution and start the path to happiness. I'm being serious. Get rid of pimples and you will be happier. Oh and don't listen to anyone who says they can not be beaten. You can win.

Overview of Acne Vulgaris
Acne Vulgaris is the medical term for what we know as acne. This may present itself as mild, moderate to severe acne that may hang around months, years or even one's entire lifetime. One may see that these breakouts will appear in one or more areas of the body such as face, shoulders, chest, back and even the neck. Most common of all are the face and back. It's the face that worries most of us. Mild conditions of acne are usually seen as blackheads and whiteheads which may develop into pimples when skin pores get infected with bacteria. Severe conditions of acne are multiple pimples that cover large portions of the skin. Some acne becomes cystic and large painful lumps form deep under the skin.

Development of Acne
If you notice that most people with oily skin almost always get acne, then you might have figured out that oil may be one cause of this condition. You guessed right. Aside from oil, dead skin cells will actually clog the pores of your skin too. Once germs start getting into these clogged pores, one starts seeing these pores swell, become red and fill with pus and something known as sebum. (You want to read up more on sebum). Now if you're one of those unfortunate women who usually gets acne only once their menstrual cycle starts coming in, then hormonal imbalance is the culprit but once again there are ways to combat the problem. Same scenario occurs where puberty causes a rise in hormones such as testosterone. This hormone causes the body to secrete more oil than usual and there you get clogging of skin pores followed quickly by bacteria growing and infecting it. Another factor for acne is genetics. If this runs in your family, especially both sides, one is most likely to get them too. Take action and stop this family problem.
Remember that there are natural conditions that can be aggravated by external causes that a person may unknowingly introduce. Leaving your make up on before going to sleep is one cause of clogging of skin pores. Staying out in the sun too long is another. Now that you know how acne Vulgaris starts, you should start thinking of how best to control this skin problem. I have written a few articles on this topic and will continue to write. Today I just wanted to go to the word Vulgaris and take a look but more importantly I wanted to say. Acne can only upset you if you allow it. You can beat acne. I did.

Identifying causes and finding solutions
While just about anything and everything can both cause acne and make it worse, being able to pinpoint the trigger for your acne can put you on the road to recovering your skin much sooner. As I mentioned before, many acne cases are the result of genetics. With acne being hereditary, breakouts tend to occur earlier on and lesions seem to create worse scars. Fighting the nature of your genes may be a battle best left for future technology but by being aware of the history of acne in your family, you are taking one big step forward to being able to prevent it. Acknowledging that acne has entangled your bloodline in an ugly choking vine might help you out more than you think. By recognizing the onset of acne you can begin to deal with early on, drastically minimizing the appearance of scars that will affect you later on in life. You'll also be doing your children a favor by keeping an eye out for pimples and helping them realize that everyone - at some point in their lives - has to cope with acne.
Puberty is one of the major causes of acne. Like genetics, puberty isn't something that you can hope to avoid. And with puberty comes stress, adding yet another trigger onto the already volatile acne situation. Because acne can increase stress levels, knock down self esteem, encourage depression (and in severe cases suicidal tendencies), it is very important that acne be discussed and treated as soon as possible. With all the worries that adolescents have as they go through a new stage in life, acne doesn't need to be their primary concern. They can easily start off with some natural remedies and maintain good skin care with trusted over-the-counter products. Treating acne as it begins to appear can help keep it under control, prevent outbreaks, and avoid scarring.
Drugs and medication can also cause acne. Anabolic steroids are used for a number of reasons, one of which is for bodybuilding and sports that require the use of bulk and strength. If anabolic steroids aren't necessary to maintain regular health, they should be avoided. Aside from serious health risks, they also cause acne outbreaks, something which you're trying to steer clear of. Any medication containing halogens, lithium, barbiturates, and androgens also tend to rub acne the wrong way. If you are able to switch to a medication that does the same job but without the annoying acne-causing ingredients you'll feel a lot happier looking into the mirror in the morning.
Vitamin A and E. We should all have a healthy level of vitamins A and E in our body to keep everything functioning smoothly, so it's no surprise to hear that a large portion of acne sufferers have low levels of both vitamins in their system. Vitamin E seems to play a crucial role in warding off acne because the most severe cases of acne were seen in people with notably low levels of it in their bloodstream. So when you think about it, the solution for this is quite logical. If you're lacking in these vitamins, find ways to naturally boost your levels of Vitamin A and E back up again. Try eating more fruits and vegetables which contain high amounts of whichever you're lacking in order to reach a satisfactory level. You can also apply these vitamins to your acne-affected areas in the form of creams, pastes, and masks. They work well on both the inside and outside of your body.
Regardless of what may be causing your acne, don't lose hope because by getting to the root of the problem, you're well on your way to finding a solution! Good luck!
